Tonight i did 3 things: bathed my dog, bathed my cat, and trained my dog to wear a muzzle I will tell you the stories individually, they where all awesome moments for me.
Training my dog to wear a muzzle:
So me and my mom got on the subject of looking for the dog shampoo, since we moved about a month ago, and
my dog needed to be bathed. I dug, and i found the muzzle, and i remember how we needed to get her to use a muzzle, so that she doesn't bite someone outside, if she didn't we would have to give her away because we live in an apartment where people go in and out. I went and asked my mom if i can try, she said yes. I got the muzzle on her using a treat. The first time, she got it off, the second time, i tightened it just a bit, not to tight, i could fit 3 fingers in it, but it was enough she couldnt get it off. After a few minutes, she calmed down, but was still scared of it, so i put her leash on and walked her outside in the hallway, she hung her head, and at first still tried to get it off. On the way back, she calmed down with it. Later tonight i will be trying it for real and taking her outside.
Bathing my dog:
After finding the shampoo, i was able to bath her, mind you she has ALOT of fur! so it took a while, she kept shaking her fur, but didn't try and climb out of the tub. It took a long long while to get her wet, and the soap in her, and rinse once i was done with her i turned off the water, she jumps out of the tub and goes to the door, i let her out immediately she goes and hides in my room. My mom keeps a pack of hot dogs for when she is good for a bath, so we got those out, and we watch alot of the dog whisperer and try to take some things we learn from that, so we made sure she was calm and not energetic before giving her the treat. After that, we brushed her down.
Bathing my cat.
Not as much as a challenge as i thought, i thought she was going to claw and scratch at me, but the most she did was try to get out of the tub. I kept saying to her: "I know hunny its ok" it was hard to bath her with one hand, i had to hold her by her scruff as gently as i could. I washed her down with her cat shampoo when she was done, she hopped out of the tub and went right to the door i grabbed a towl picked her up like a baby and said "Its ok. i know you didnt like it" and let her go, she was not happy about it, as a reward for getting a bath, we gave her catnip, and she forgave us lol.
